Board of Directors

PCTIA is governed by a ten-member Board of Directors.

Three of the members are appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education, and seven are institution owners and/or administrators elected by representatives of PCTIA registered institutions.

Role of the Board

The Board of Directors must govern, control, and administer the affairs of the Agency in accordance with the Act, the regulations, and bylaws. It has overall responsibility for ensuring PCTIA fulfills the purposes for which it was created, setting its strategic direction, and appointing a registrar.

The composition, powers, and duties of the Board of Directors are set out in Sections 4 and 5 of the Private Career Training Institutions Act.

The Board of Directors has five standing committees:

  • Finance and Student Training Completion Fund Committee
  • Student Complaints Committee
  • Nominating Committee
  • Planning and Review Committee
